I have been reading a book called Speaking With Beads to try and find out more about traditional Zulu beading or beadwork. The colours of isibheklane grabbed my attention, the shapes and the pattern. That inspired me to make these ceramic brooches. They are nowhere near being finished but in time they will be master pieces. I chose ceramic so that I can give them dimension and to use a medium that I’ve never used before
