Makhaya

I love that fact that things have changed and technology has improved to our advantage but the one thing that worries me right now is the fact that the younger generation (myself included) have moved away or forgotten some of their roots. Where they come from, why things were the way they were, I say this because as a btec student that is putting together a research report I'm discovering how uniformed I am about some parts of our tradition and culture. I wish I lived emakhaya where I could gather and learn more about them.

Fortune cookie

Funny enough, I've always wanted to have a fortune cookie and take pictures of different stages. Wish I took a pic of me eating it :-D. I didn't know they had lotto numbers though, please don't play these, they are mine. It reads "You draw admiration when you find sudden inspriration" To the people that know me, do you think its true?

Make earrings

I beaded these panels of beads, I wanted to make earring with them but I can't seem to make up my mind about how the top is meant to be. Still playing around with ideas hey.

Bigger

There is a God "Not that I doubted" It wasn't about the number of beads or the neatness but the space that you leave. Wonder if I could do it again.

Smile

Don't be afraid of this smiley, its just the way I feel about beading the beaded bead, smiling but a bit angry about it. I think I got if all figured out but I want to kick myself for not figuring it out sooner.

Invites

I don't know about other jewellery students but I love doing other things on the side, something to take my mind off jewellery and in this case I'm talking about invites. This is my 5th order, I love making things with bright colours and with invites I can go over the top without having to worry much. What do you think?

Don't feel too good

I must say that Joburg didn't treat me too well, I was sick as a dog the whole time we were there.
This is us trying to make our stand look presentable for the people at the show, I call it "being thrown into the deep end" because of the minimal resources that we had, I wish that's we had brought more things with us so that we could choose what ever we wanted then to have less and try to make do with what we had.

Jewellex

Jewellex is an exhibition, show and a jewellery industry shopping ground. It is held once a year in Joburg, all the institutions that teach jewellery get the chance to showcase their students work.
This is the Tshwane tech stand that was a real big eye opener for us, on the level of displaying.

Not again

I believed in the saying "if at first you don't succeed try, try again" but I think in this case I'm a sucker for punishment. I'm still battling with this whole beaded bead idea, I kept on trying to make it bigger but I guess it wasn't meant to be. I'm afraid I'm loosing hope. :-(
